EBRO ARMATUREN Gebr. Bröer GmbH

For more than 40 years, we have been developing, manufacturing, and distributing industrial valves and actuator systems. Today, we are one of the world’s leading manufacturers. A network of production facilities, branch offices, and subsidiaries with approximately 1,000 employees ensures our international presence, which—combined with our high-quality products—makes us a recognized partner in the international plant engineering industry.

Outstanding Quality:
A quality management system—first certified to EN ISO 9000 in 1993—compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), and documentation that meets the requirements of the Machinery Directive ensure the highest quality. This quality, combined with our experience and expertise, is reflected in a wide-ranging product portfolio that offers solutions for virtually any application.

Custom-Engineered Components:
We offer our customers custom-engineered solutions for automated valves because we manufacture both the valve and the actuator ourselves. A dedicated business unit ensures precise coordination between valves, actuators, and automation technology. The result is a well-rounded, comprehensive product line that fully meets all process engineering requirements, including those for energy efficiency. In addition, the coordinated unit—consisting of a high-quality valve and a matching pneumatic actuator—can be precisely adapted to each specific application. This coordination of components reduces air and energy consumption, and thus also the associated costs.

The Institute for Particle Technology (IPT) at the University of Wuppertal was established as an in-house institute for research projects under the Chair of Safety Engineering and Environmental Protection. Its research focuses on the characterization, prevention, and reduction of fine and ultrafine dust. In addition to DFG-funded basic research on topics related to filtration and dust formation, the IPT carries out joint industrial research projects as well as collaborative projects with industry partners. For example, the IPT has already successfully addressed issues such as the pseudo-deposition behavior in diesel particulate filters, the reduction of fugitive emissions in open-pit mines and quarries, the use of electrostatically charged spray mist to reduce air pollution, and dust generation in the paper industry. To carry out these projects, the IPT has an extensive portfolio of measurement technology for dust, gas, and flow measurement, as well as a well-equipped technical center with wind tunnels and a wide range of test facilities.

DSIV Logo

Deutscher Schüttgut-Industrie Verband e.V.

The DSIV is an association representing the interests of individuals and companies active in a wide range of areas involving bulk materials. This includes, in particular, the production, storage, transportation, and processing of bulk materials. It facilitates and promotes the exchange of views and experiences among its members and provides information on all issues of professional interest.

The establishment of an association in the German bulk materials industry was long overdue. More than 1,000 companies in German-speaking countries are involved in bulk materials processing. The spectrum ranges from plant design to the supply of individual components for bulk materials processing. The field of bulk material processing industries is also highly diverse. It spans from the pharmaceutical industry to agriculture, from mining to the food industry, and many other sectors. It is estimated that approximately 60,000 employees work directly with bulk materials. This includes everyone from drivers transporting de-icing material for road maintenance agencies in the winter to pharmaceutical technicians involved in pill production at pharmaceutical companies.
This immediately highlights the two areas the association aims to represent: on the one hand, the companies, and on the other, the individuals who work with bulk materials. The association organizes benefits for both. Companies find in the association the protection and promotion of their interests vis-à-vis institutions and the broader economy. They gain a platform for communication and the exchange of opinions and experiences. The training, education, and professional development of entry-level employees, specialists, and managers is a top priority for the association. Unfortunately, among large associations such as VDI, Dechema, and VDMA, the offerings aimed at the bulk solids industry are very limited, we can also achieve more together here.
