Nordfab’s Commitment to Sustainable, Transparent Manufacturing
At Nordfab, we protect people, the planet, and production from pollution—an approach closely tied to sustainable manufacturing. Our galvanized steel ducting now carries an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), an internationally recognised, independently verified certification that provides full transparency into the product’s environmental impact across its entire life cycle, from raw materials and production to end‑of‑life recycling.
Key Environmental Advantages
The EPD highlights Nordfab’s strong performance in three main areas: recyclability, low electricity‑related carbon emissions, and safe material use.
1. High Recyclability
Steel is highly recyclable, and recycling significantly offsets the environmental impact of initial production. Because Nordfab ducting is made entirely of steel, its end‑of‑life footprint is exceptionally favourable, reducing CO₂ emissions, resource extraction, and energy use.
2. Low Carbon Emissions from Energy Use
Nordfab’s manufacturing relies largely on low‑carbon and renewable energy sources—including wind, biomass, hydro, solar, and waste energy—resulting in low electricity‑related carbon emissions and a smaller overall climate impact.
3. Minimal Waste and No Hazardous Substances
The EPD confirms zero hazardous and radioactive waste and only modest non‑hazardous waste. Our ducting contains no harmful or restricted substances, ensuring safe use throughout its lifespan.
Supporting Sustainable Construction
Nordfab Quick-Fit (QF) ducting requires no energy during operation, produces no emissions, and demands minimal maintenance. With verified, transparent data, it supports green building certifications and simplifies sustainability reporting.
