Big-Bag Unloading Station
Our modular Big-Bag Unloading Station BBU-1 is optimised use with Vacuum Conveyors for dust-free operation. It can be used for a variety of bulk materials, can be customised to aid with unloading of poor flowing products and bring them into process areas without any contamination of the product or surroundings. Customisation can be done easily to fulfill all local demand and application requirements. - for Big-Bags up to 2,000 kg - loading by fork lift or with an integrated crane and hoist - dust-free connection and emptying of Big-Bags - integrated filtration and dust recovery system to manage dust during change of Big-Bags - Optional lump breakers and material agitators - combined systems with Bag Rip-and-Tip Station available

Weighing and Dosing Systems
Some conveying tasks bring up the question: How much material did the system convey and feed? A batch weighing and loading of bulk material is achievable through the Volkmann CONWEIGH system. Our CONWEIGH Vacuum Conveying and Weighing/Dosing systems measure both the incoming and outgoing material flow. You can set these systems to convey a certain amount of product or just control the feed rate over time, the CONWEIGH does the rest. It gives you a vacuum conveyor with fine dosing function that gives a perfance of up to 99.7% / 99.9% precision (depending on material condition and installation). Volkmann CONWEIGH Vacuum Conveying systems with weighing and dosing function are designed to incorporate our VS and PPC conveyors, therefore able to provie a wide range of options and customisation for an individual application. They work gravimetrically with the vacuum conveyor mounted on a special frame designed to completely isolate the system from external forces and loads. The filling weight is constantly measured throughout the suction cycle. The amount of material to be conveyed is specified (through a touch screen input). If different materials must be transferred from a number of pick-up locations, the control can operate the necessary diverter valves to activate the proper transportation line automatically. CONWEIGH systems can be programmed to deliver recipes into the process. The combined transfer/weighing CONWEIGH system is used for dosing weights of 2 kg and above. Typical for vacuum conveying, the transported material is released discontinuously in cycles. The maximum dosing capacity is defined by the transportation capacity of the vacuum conveyor, for CONWEIGH this is up to 4 t/h. The accuracy of the system is 99-99.7% of the indicated value (configured to customer demands).

PPC Pharma Vacuum Conveyors
The PPC Series Pharmaceutical Vacuum Conveyors are designed specifically for all applications requiring the highest quality of materials, surfaces and characteristics for all parts in contact with the conveyed materials. These conveyors are mainly used in the Pharmaceutical and Colour/Lacquer industries where their one-piece body design, and electro-polished finish, allow for more accessible internal surfaces with fewer joins, cracks, or crevices for an easier, and more reliably, cleaned conveyor, helping to prevent cross-contamination between products and batches. The superior manufacturing quality of the PPC conveyorswith the gap-free design removing inaccessible spaces where product might collect, fulfils the highest quality demands. But, units are still easily dismantled without tools, can be cleaned quickly and can be sterilized. The design of the PPC Conveyors is completely electrically conductive, free of gaps, without any inaccessible spaces where the product might remain. PPC Conveyors are fitted with a large butterfly valve for discharging, which can also be easily dismantled without tools. PPC Vacuum Conveyors are offered as pre-configured units regarding for the individual application. Customers choose from a variety of Pharma or electrically conductive filter systems (for example for use with hazardous inflammable materials). Special coatings, clamp modules, valve assemblies, WIP/CIP systems are available upon your request.

INEX Vacuum Conveyors
Volkmann INEX Vacuum Conveyors provide safe loading of bulk materials into hazardous areas, particular in the Chemical and Pharma Industries, where the loading of powders into reactors and stirring vessels is requiered. INEX systems can be used inside all gas and dust explosion zones. Initially material is sucked into the separator of the INEX system. Before the material is discharged, the transportation line is closed and the INEX system is set under vacuum. Then, the material inside the INEX system is areated with inert gas (for example Nitrogene) from the bottom and then released through the systems discharge valve. The concentration of Oxigen during discharge typically is below 7% or limited to such a value to not compromise the inert feed of the system. For the conveying of hybride mixtures, where the transfer of powders containing solvents, the entire vacuum transportation process with an INEX Vacuum Conveying system takes place under inert atmosphere. Volkmann INEX Vacuum Conveyors for hazardous applications and Explosion Zones free of ignition sources operate completely pneumatic without electricity completely electrical conductive design small interior filling volumes low transportation speeds no heat produced no hot surfaces no rotary parts easy to control and to operate. Volkmann provides profound expertise and support for all hazardous applications relying on our experience and knowledge. All systems have been designed for the specific demands of hazardous applications.

Hoists
Volkmann stationary and mobile hoists simplify the handling and positioning of vacuum conveyors above the machines or bins which have to be fed with material. The vacuum conveyor can be brought into position, connected dust-free, powder tight, and free of forces induced to the system below the conveyor, which might be critical to the process stability like with tablet presses or filling machines. Mounted on a mobile hoist, one vacuum conveyor can be used most flexible to feed material into various machines, one after the other. With a hoist, getting the conveyor down from the machine for cleaning and maintenance is an ease, no tools are required for (dis-)assembly. The handling and positioning of a vacuum conveyor above a container, bin or production machine can be made easier by use of a stationary or mobile hoist. Volkmann hoists are lightweight and easy manouverable. Solutions and benefits: One Vacuum Conveyor to feed into different systems Quick, comfortable and hygienic operation and handling pneumatic, electric or manual operation hyginic versions (pharma design) customized connections and docking solutions available designed and manufactured from Volkmann in Germany

IBC Discharging
IBC Docking And Discharge Stations produktaufgabestation_vs-andockelementVolkmann docking and discharge stations provide a quick exchange and dust-free join between frequently exchanged IBCs and other process equipment: docking of IBCs at filling and discharging stations docking of Vacuum Conveyors safely and dust-free with mobile hoists directly on top of filling machines, tablet presses etc. Ask us about possible solutions and ideas for your material transfer application.

Drum Discharge Systems
Volkmann systems for discharging bulk material from drums either work by tilting and emptying the barrels into a pick-up hopper or by an automatic guided suction lance. Feeding with a lance may alternatively be performed manually. Special secondary/feeding air systems allows the system to take material from barrels with liners or directly from sacks. Our systems provide an extremely gentle material transport from the barrel and does work successfully with sensitive and easy to damage delicate tablets. The system monitors and regulates the suction air flow to avoid excess pressure actionon sensitive bulk goods, which can occur with tipping systems. These systems allow for the discharge of material from drums with liners under full containment to work in a closed system under controlled environmental conditions.
