Gebr. Ruberg GmbH & Co. KG
About us
GEBRÜDER RUBERG machines have been around for nearly 200 years. And the company's history proves that expertise and mechanical engineering experience are deeply rooted in the central Germany, in the Westphalian town of Nieheim.
When Christian Ruberg laid the foundation stone for his small business in 1848, he probably couldn’t imagine that almost 200 years later it would become a globally operating company. While in his time he installed water wheels in mills, today his descendants and an accomplished team of specialists develop high-performance machines for industry and agriculture that are used successfully around the globe.
Find out below why RUBERG can also produce the right machine solution for your requirement.
We offer maximum transparency in our processes and insights into our 5,000 m² development environment, where innovative technology solutions are created. A friendly consulting team guides you from the initial idea to the project’s completion and conducts practical trials in our in-house technology centre. Mobile test machines support your development processes directly on-site.
RUBERG is a family-run business with 65 employees and an open, creative atmosphere. We foster personal, equal-level interactions with customers, partners, suppliers and employees. High standards for safety and quality are second nature to us.
As a training company, we ensure qualified new talent, invest in new technologies and optimise our resource management for greater sustainability.

Beyond the product, service and maintenance

Tests & laboratory experiments
From the idea to the finished machine RUBERG accompanies its customers from the first contact, the exploratory discussions, the ideation phase through planning, development and manufacturing, all the way to logistical tasks, post-delivery support and assembly. The collaboration with the client is characterised by a trustful relationship, flexibility and consulting expertise. The heart of our planning and development services is the RUBERG Technology Centre with its attached laboratory. The link between product development and production allows us to conduct practical mixing, cleaning and separation tests on 350 m³. Here, procedures for production are optimised and process parameters for the planning and development of customer systems are determined. This means more certainty in planning before the final construction.

Continuous mixer
From 0.5 – 750 m3/h throughput with a mixing chamber volume of 70 – 7200 litres. In corresponding, high-quality stainless or special steels. Individually adjustable mixing tools allow a variable residence time of the product in the mixing chamber. Installation horizontal or up to 45 degrees slope. Low operating costs due to robust design. Inspection flaps along the entire length of the mixer for cleaning and maintenance. Residual emptying > 98%, depending on design and mixing tools. Processing options: Loosening, homogenizing, agglomerating, moistening, conditioning, liquefying, gluing, deagglomerating, greasing, granulating, dispersing, neutralizing, molassesing, emulsifying, dissolving, coating

Laboratory batch mixer
The RUBERG laboratory batch mixers offer versatile applications in the laboratory or small-scale production. They range from recipe and product development of pure dry substance mixtures to liquid additions in dry substances to pure liquid mixtures. From gentle homogenization of sensitive materials to size reduction of agglomerates by cutting rotor application. Temperature control and evacuation are further process options. Reproducible trial and reference mixes are indispensable elements for product development and quality assurance. The product components are picked in commercially available drums and docked to the mixing chamber. The entire unit is manually swivelled into working position and the mixing cycle is started. The helix circulates the product components with variable speeds in a large-volume manner that is gentle on the product. In the process, they are cross-flowed by the distribution and holding arms. The maximum mixing quality is achieved in the shortest possible time and the unit can be swivelled back to the home position. The homogenized product empties completely back into the container, which can then be decoupled and sent for further use.

Lump breaker
RUBERG lump breakers are used for crushing lumpy bulk materials and raw materials in many industrial sectors. They homogenise the particle sizes and the flow rate of the bulk stream. In doing so, they achieve uniform product transfer from bins, silos, big bags, bag dumps, etc. into conveyors, mixers, process equipment, filling lines, etc. In high-quality stainless or special steels optionally with wear-resistant coatings or with hygienic surfaces with adequate seals, RUBERG lump breakers find a wide range of applications in the bulk materials, chemical, pharmaceutical and food sectors. Manufactured according to GMP, FDA and ATEX guidelines. The nominal sizes correspond to common standard series. With flat flanges, clamp flanges or straight spigots for sleeves – they can be easily integrated into existing piping, plant components and process apparatus. Heating or cooling jackets for temperature-controlled products, self-closing rinsing nozzles for automatic CIP cleaning and swivel bearings for inspection of the entire unit are examples of additional equipment.

Container batch mixer For production in container handling up to approx. 2000 litres.
The task: compact plant technology with simple logistics in handling containers. Based on the customer requirements, we developed the RUBERG container batch mixers of the series CCM-U (containers docked from below) and CCM-O (containers docked from above). Products are picked in standard or individual containers of up to approx. 2000 litres (GMP-compliant). The containers are integrated into the mixing process by docking to the swivelling mixing chamber. The mixing variations are equivalent to those of the RUBERG precision batch mixers. The CCM-U series is suitable for use with containers featuring inlet and outlet cone as well as containers that can be completely opened at the top. The entire unit swivels into working position with the container docked at the bottom and empties the product completely into the mixing chamber. The closed system prevents product emissions in the process. Aspiration and filtration systems are not required. In a very short time, the slow-running mixer produces a completely homogeneous mixture in a way that is very gentle on the product. The unit then swivels back to the home position. The rotating mixer supports the complete emptying of the product back into the container, which is then decoupled and sent for further use.

Vertical feeder The dosing device for a continuous flow with adjustable performance.
RUBERG vertical feeders generate a uniform bulk flow that is gentle on the product. They are suitable for discharging free-flowing dry materials from bins, silos, mixers, etc. The polygon effect during the rotation of the spherical rotary lock prevents bridging with heavy-flowing products on the one hand, and gushing with particularly easy-flowing products on the other. For example, downstream equipment such as screening machines, continuous conveyors, packaging equipment, etc. can be fed. Made of high-quality stainless steel materials. With hygienic surfaces and seals, used in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical sectors. The nominal diameters and connection flanges correspond to common standard series, allowing RUBERG vertical feeders to be integrated into existing pipelines and systems. Equipped with an inflation sleeve and position sensor for the rotary lock, RUBERG vertical feeders can also be used as dust- and pressure-tight shut-off devices. Variable gap dimensions for sensitive granules, heating jackets for temperature-controlled products, integrated cleaning and CIP nozzles are examples of extensive accessories.

Precision batch mixer
Due to the wide range of raw and finished products and their diverse requirements for materials and processing quality, RUBERG has developed six main types within the CM series over years of innovation, each with different designs. Combined with additional equipment, these units form RUBERG precision batch mixers, optimised for quality and cost-efficiency, handling tasks for powders, granules and low- to high-viscosity liquids. Tasks such as homogenizing, coating, wetting, crystallizing, degassing, foaming, steaming, fluidizing and drying are just a few examples of the mixing challenges that RUBERG precision batch mixers are built to address. These mixers deliver high performance and flexibility, handling sensitive products from the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and food industries, as well as bulk goods in chemicals, building materials, plastics and animal feed. With rapid processing times, they achieve a high degree of mixing precision in as little as 30–180 seconds (as quick as 30 seconds for muesli). The variable speeds, tailored to the mixed material, allow for gentle blending of coarse-grained materials and intensive dispersion of fine powders, paints, coatings, or liquid substances at higher speeds. Available in working volumes from 100 to 25,000 litres, these mixers are constructed from premium stainless or special steels. They ensure the highest mixing precision of 1:100,000, even at variable fill levels starting from just 10% capacity.
