The Hosokawa Solids Solutions GmbHis in the field of bulk solids handling an internationally operating group of companies and a competent partner for different industries producing and processing bulk solids.
We offer more than 50 years experience and KnowHow in the development and manufacturing of components for bulk solids handling with the core competences storing-, conveying-, metering- and weighing technology as well as in the engineering and realisation of complete, automatic bulk handling systems.
In January 2020, the Hosokawa Solids Solutions became part of the Hosokawa Alpine Group and is therefore part of the Hosokawa Micron Group.

DMR Flash Dryer
The DMR Flash Dryer by Hosokawa Micron is a compact, continuous drying system that combines drying, milling, and classifying in a single, energy-efficient unit. It is designed for safe and gentle drying of heat-sensitive products, including wet solids, pastes, slurries, and filter cakes, producing fine, uniform powders in seconds. Even challenging materials are processed efficiently thanks to the integrated high-shear rotor, which ensures rapid drying, effective deagglomeration, and precise particle size control. By combining multiple process steps, the DMR simplifies operations, reduces energy consumption, and lowers overall operating costs. The system can handle moist solids with up to 80 percent moisture content and delivers high evaporation rates with fast thermal transfer. It has a small footprint and excellent accessibility for inspection and cleaning, making it ideal for continuous production in industries such as chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals, and minerals.

Vitomix Ribbon Screw Mixer
The Vitomix ribbon screw mixer is a mid-shear mixer capable of ultra-short cycle times with up to 8 times more transport volume than conventional ribbon screw mixers. The Vitomix, also known as ribbon screw blender, also has a wider range of operation using tip speeds from 0.4 m/s to 6.0 m/s. This multi-functional ribbon screw mixer combines gentle mixing and mid to low shear in the one compact machine. It's ideal for the addition of liquids and creates a homogenous mixture without using lump breakers. The ribbon screw mixer is an energy-efficient mixer that reduces energy costs and saves on mixing time.

Nauta® Conical Screw Mixer
Nauta® Mixer – Conical Screw Mixer The Nauta® conical screw mixer provides gentle, low-shear batch mixing of powders, pastes, and slurries while preserving particle integrity and achieving high homogeneity. Its conical vessel with a cantilevered, orbiting screw ensures precise, energy-efficient mixing and predictable scale-up from lab to production. Nauta® is the global benchmark for powder mixing technology. The mixer handles free-flowing, fragile, or segregative powders with consistent quality at 15 to 100 percent fill levels. It can be configured for heating, cooling, drying including vacuum, and humidification. A bottom discharge valve ensures complete emptying, reducing manual handling and cross-contamination. Optional CIP or SIP cleaning and operation under vacuum or pressure increase flexibility. Nauta mixers can also act as live hoppers, feeding downstream equipment such as fluid bed dryers. They are energy-efficient, fully ATEX-compliant, and available in sizes from 5 to 100,000 liters. solids Rotary Valve SRVS-Hygienic
New solids Rotary valves in Hygienic Design acc. EHEDG - Guidelines The solids Rotary valve Type SRVS has been advanced by Hosokawa Solids Solutions to Hygienic Design. It is easy to dismantle and easy to clean and has been planned acc. HACCP and EHEDG -guidelines, suitable for food stuffs, with extensible rotar and optional check guide rails. All solids rotary valves of this series comply already with the new machinery directive 2000/42/EC, which has been effective since 29.12.2009. Within the required risk evaluation also have been considered the microbiological, physical and chemical demands. The GMP- / FDA-requirements and the DIN EN 1672-2 are fulfilled with measures as: in contact with product polished (interior), ground, surface quality acc. required Ra-value, all sealings without any cracks, optionally electropolished, free of dead spots. Where total freedom of cracks and dead spots is not possible, it has been paid attention to easy dismantling and cleaning. The solids Rotary valve Type SRVS is also suitable for the use under Ex-conditions. It has been tested by a well known and accredited testing center, the DEKRA – Exam. The prototype test has certified the suitability for zone 20. Therefore this rotary valve can be applied with declaration of conformity in zone 20 category 1 acc. ATEX RL 94/9/EC. Available as protection system acc. ATEX is the subsidiary series Typ SRVP. Due to this the operator has a maximum of plant safety.

solids pneumatic conveyor in Hygienic Design
Pneumatic conveying systems in Hygienic Design for the food, pharma and chemical industry Hosokawa Solids Solutions developed recently a new pneumatic feeder in Hygienic Design acc. EC-guidelines and presented it on POWTECH 2010 for the first time. The solids feeder in stainless steel in appropriate alloy fullfills the HACCP- and GMP-requirements, is free of dead spots, easy to clean, CIP – capable and piggable. The mounting connections are free of dead spots, cartridge seals are FDA-approved and surfaces have a defined roughness hight. The conveyor line system with centered clamping rings is easy to dismantle, the material entry is designed as disc valve which is free of dead spots. The feeder fulfills the DIN EN 1672-2 hygienic requirements of food stuff machines. Hosokawa Solids Solutions applies this solids feeder according to the condition of the bulk solids in various pneumatic conveying systems: Dense phase pressure conveying: Fluidised powders are carried as homogeneous material-/air mixture using thrust. Push conveying: with indicated plug formation. Grainy products with close grain spectrum are streamed and “slided” as stand or plug. The plug flow is indicated by air impulse. Dense phase conveying with bypass: and nozzles or boosters for difficult bulk solids. For avoiding blockage longer plugs are being dissolved. Plug conveying with bypass, impulse valve and relay stations: plugs are generated and preserved and are slided without demixing through the conveyor pipes. Gentliest low velocity conveying for sensitive and abrasive products.

CW II 250
The CW 250 II is a compact pin mill from Hosokawa Alpine's Contraplex series for the fine grinding of brittle to medium-hard products. Two counter-rotating pin discs generate high relative speeds, enabling intensive deagglomeration and fine final particle sizes. The flow-optimized housing facilitates cleaning and maintenance. Gearless drives reduce the risk of contamination and allow for high rotational speeds with stable process control.
