Ilchmann Fördertechnik GmbH
About us
At ILCHMANN Fördertechnik, conveying bulk materials is not just what we do – it is part of who we are. As a family-owned company, our story is shaped by generations of hands-on engineering, responsibility for what we build, and a deep respect for the trust our customers place in us.
The company was founded with a simple conviction: conveying equipment must work reliably under real plant conditions, day after day, year after year. This belief has guided us from the beginning and still defines our decisions today. We design our conveyors as if we were going to operate them ourselves – with care, honesty, and a clear focus on long-term performance.
Working as a family business means thinking beyond projects and delivery dates. We value continuity, personal commitment, and long-term partnerships. Many of our engineers, technicians, and partners have been part of our journey for many years, carrying experience forward and shaping a shared understanding of quality and responsibility.
We take pride in solving difficult tasks. When bulk materials are demanding, installation space is limited, or operating conditions are harsh, we do not look for shortcuts. We take the time to understand the process, the material, and the plant environment. Every solution we develop reflects this dedication – practical, robust, and built to last.
Over the years, our path has led us into close cooperation with some of the world’s leading operators in the oilseed processing industry. Working alongside companies such as ADM, Bunge, Cargill, and Louis Dreyfus has strengthened our understanding of what truly matters in large-scale, 24/7 operating plants: reliability, predictability, and partners who stand by their work.
What motivates us is not growth for its own sake, but the knowledge that our work will still be performing years from now. As a family business, we build for the long term – for our customers, for our partners, and for the next generation that will continue this craft.
Products

Horizontal Cooler Chain Conveyors
The ILCHMANN horizontal cooler chain conveyor is designed for the controlled cooling of press cake, pellets, and comparable bulk materials. It is used wherever uniform cooling performance, gentle product handling, and space-efficient integration into existing plants are required.

Silde Gates
ILCHMANN slide gates are used for the safe isolation and controlled dosing of dry, free-flowing bulk materials. They are primarily installed under chain conveyors and at silo discharges. Drive options include manual (handwheel or chain wheel), pneumatic, or electric actuation. The slide plate is available with an adjustable sealing system and a position indicator. Optionally, ILCHMANN slide gates can be supplied in protected designs for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with ATEX requirements.

Bucket Elevators
ILCHMANN bucket elevators provide an efficient solution for vertical conveying of a wide range of bulk materials at high capacities. They are available as belt or chain bucket elevators to suit specific application requirements. Modern monitoring systems monitor belt tracking, bearing temperatures, speed, and slip. In combination with pressure relief systems, safe and reliable operation is ensured, including in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with ATEX requirements.

Screw Conveyors
ILCHMANN screw conveyors are engineered for a wide range of applications and are available with constant pitch for standard conveying duties, with progressive pitch for controlled discharge applications (e.g. silo extraction), or as plug screw conveyors for extractor/toaster feeding, or force feeding duties such as press feeding. Screw conveyors are suitable for horizontal or inclined conveying. For operation in potentially explosive atmospheres, gas-tight versions in accordance with ATEX requirements are available.

Chain Conveyors
ILCHMANN chain conveyors are designed for low-maintenance continuous operation under high mechanical loads and have proven their reliability in demanding process and environmental conditions. Even complex conveying layouts can be implemented with a high level of process reliability. For complete product clean-out, round-bottom designs are available. Gas-tight versions in accordance with ATEX requirements enable operation in hazardous areas.
