ImpulsTec GmbH
About us
ImpulsTec is a high-tech company based in Dresden engaged in the construction and marketing of pulsed-power systems and components for high-voltage pulse technology. The core business of ImpulsTec is the construction and sales of shock-wave systems for material fragmentation and recycling. In addition to the construction of shock wave fragmentation systems, ImpulsTec offers its customers a range of support services for these systems, such as process development or the application of the fragmentation technology on special materials. ImpulsTec works together with different national and international partners, and is embedded into a network of corresponding companies and research institutes in this field. Our modern and flexible fragmentation systems are developed in close cooperation with our customers.

shock wave fragmentation system EHF
The innovative, electro-hydraulic fragmentation technology of ImpulsTec GmbH offers great application potential for the recycling of composites and complex industrial materials and can thus make a contribution to the development of previously unexploited secondary sources of raw materials and long-term resource conservation. With its high material selectivity, ImpulsTec GmbH's shock wave technology for industrial applications provides enhanced fragmentation at the interfaces of different materials. It is thus predestinated for applications like the separation of complex industrial materials and composites.

Continuous Shock Wave Plant
-Technical Features- The continuous shock wave systems are implemented as standard in a container construction. The continuously operating fragmentation vessel is arranged inside the container. This is equipped with a conveyor system for the material feed and a conveyor system for the removal of the treated material. The container is equipped with a special lining for noise protection and for shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMC protection). The material is fed in by means of a bunker conveyor, which continuously feeds the material to the fragmentation vessel inside the container. Appropriate dimensioning of the material bunker means that the system can be operated independently. The fragmentation vessels of the continuous shock wave systems are designed according to the specific material and separation requirements. The process can be individually adjusted by adapting the fragmentation chamber. The vessel is equipped with a movable multi-electrode system. The number of working electrodes is determined by the required productivity. The fragmented or disassembled material is usually transported out of the fragmentation vessels by means of a water bath conveyor and thus represents a simple interface for linking with downstream plant technology for sorting and dewatering. An industrial control (PLC) with touch screen interface enables the individual setting of the fragmentation parameters as well as the feeding and removal of the treated material depending on the material or separation requirements and the simple adjustment of the process parameters. A monitored, multi-level security system ensures personal and system protection at all times. No specialist qualifications of the operating personnel are required. The operator can independently store data records with fragmentation parameters for specific materials in the system control.

ImpulsTec offers in-house fragmentation campaigns of small to medium sample quantities up to 500 kg on standard equipment. Larger amounts can be negotiated by inquiery.
News

High-purity fragmentation
The low-contamination shockwave process is ideal for processing high-purity materials. Due to the non-contact fragmentation, there is only a minimal entry of metallic foreign elements (<1 ppm).

Electroplated Plastics
ImpulsTec develops a innovative recycling systems for galvanized plastics. The separation of the coating from the plastic with a purity of >99.8% enables the direct reuse of the plastic and a marketable metal fraction.

Small electrical appliances
ImpulsTec's selective treatment process enables the gentle dismantling of small electrical appliances to expose or separate batteries or circuit boards.

Glass-polymer composites
One possible application of the shock wave process is the recycling of solar modules, where the high-quality front glass can be recovered in compliance with high purity requirements in addition to exposing the semiconductor material.
