Scrap Metal Cleaning by Vibratory Screen VSL
interVIB GmbH supports steel mills and foundries improving their scrap metal quality. The key equipment, besides a magnetic drum, is the Linear Vibratory Screen VSL with special designed 3D-screening cassettes. The surface is designed to operate jam and clog free, including a high life time. This special vibratory screen takes out fines like sand and rust dust, improving the scrap metal quality. This reduces the energy consumption of the furnace and the unwanted amount of slag. By taking out unwanted fines, which can be up to 10% of the scrap volume, and the downstream operating magnetic drum MD, a scrap purity of 99.5% can be achieved The complete set up includes a metering vibratory feeder TCV, the vibratory screen VSL, the magnetic drum MD and a vibratory trough conveyor TCV collecting the fines and the non-ferrous material. Capacities of 25 – 200 to/hr can be realized. It is possible to rent out a semi-transportable testing device, either to trail the set up or to examine the delivered scrap metal qualities at your site.

Linear and Circular Vibratory Screening Technology
The Screening Technology VS includes various configurations, different screen surfaces and several drives. Serving all fields of industry enables interVIB selecting the best possible combination. According to the conveying good to be graded, we propose the decision for circular or linear motion. interVIB always finds the best solution, no matter what application is asked for – grading cacao beans or pellets, dewatering rocks or screening scrap metal. Various cleaning solutions for the screening surface can be chosen. Also it is possible to grade various fractions by multi-deck screening machines. At all designs interVIB considers easy access and easy-to-clean screen surfaces. Various Screen Surfaces and Designs Dimensioning the screen surface depends on the conveying good. For example coffee beans, pellets or animal feed ingredients are graded through spring steel wire mesh screens, either square or rectangular aligned into downstream direction. For mining, recycling or rock and gravel applications grid screens, perforated steel plates or bar grate screens are a good solution. But also perforated synthetic or rubber surfaces are a feasible choice being wear resistant for the dewatering of abrasive goods. As you can see, we have many options getting the best performance possible.

Vibratory Trough Conveyor TCV transports and meters
interVIB’s Vibratory Trough Conveyors TCV are built to transport and to meter various products in all branches of industry. Every single conveyor is built tailor made to customer’s application and needs. Gentle conveying of food stuff, collecting hot molding sand or dosing scrap metal onto Vibratory Screens – each conveyor is supplied with special needed designs, as there are bolted in manganese wear plates, special food grade designs and many more.

Bunker Discharge Conveyor BDC ensures constant product flow
interVIB’s Bunker Discharge Conveyors BDC can be installed directly underneath the customer’s silos or bins including a conveying good guiding hood, but also come as a complete unit built from a bunker, the Bunker Discharge Conveyor BDC and a support structure. Both configurations ensure a constant product flow without any clogging or bridging. For coarse materials special manganese wear plates are bolted in. If the product column is very high like in silo units, the special design of the infeed area takes of the load of the vibratory conveyor. All Bunker Discharge Conveyors BDC will designed to specific application suiting their job.

Sand Lump Breaker LB fully automatic
Sand Lump Breakers LB are in operation in foundries for recycling, grating and classifying lumped up moulding sand. They are delivered in different standard sizes, but can be customized to the required application. The interVIB Sand Lump Breaker is working continuously. Moulding and core sand is loaded into the breaker from the top and the grated fine sand is discharged continuously. After a certain time or number of loading cycles the hard stuff and scrap metal, like sprues and cooling iron is discharged through the pneumatic front gate. Some of the main advantages from the customer’s point of view are named the high capacity and that there are no extra electronic controls like frequency converters needed for normal operation. Discharging unbreakable material needs less than 2 minutes. This ensures a high availability in the manufacturing line up.

Travelling Charging Machine CM – robust and dependable
Travelling Charging Machines CM find their application in metered filling of any kind of melting furnace. The main components are storage hopper, vibratory conveyor, motorized base frame, bolted on discharge and a tight fit hood meeting the furnace’s pivoting hood. An additional hopper on top can be installed for additives. This is the most cost effective and reliable way feeding furnaces gently and metered in the foundry and steel work industry. In a constricted room situation utilizing crane driven charging tubs or attachable charging hoppers may be the possible solution. Travelling distances, control signal exchanges and special configurations can be chosen from a wide field of options.

VGU Vario Gearbox Unit – Servo Technology saves energy
The special electronic control unit manipulates unbalanced drives and can be delivered in servo technology, which gives the advantages of great energy savings and quicker response times. Furthermore the servo drive motors are more robust in a dusty environment because of the closed design without the need of any extra cooling fan, which is needed for 3-phase motors. interVIB’s VGU Vario Gearbox Unit mostly finds its employment in Continuous Shake Outs SOC, separating castings and moulding sand out of the moulding box. Especially for contract foundries this a big advantage. Sometimes more than 1,000 different parts are listed in the portfolio. Some castings are massive with many undercuts, others are fragile with thin walls. The program of the VGU offers numerous pre-dial set ups, which can be paired up to the different parts. This way every single casting gets its needed treatment. The Vario Gearbox Unit changes the throwing angle in less than a second. Furthermore the revolution of the unbalanced drives can be changed to the customer’s needs.

Module Metal Separation
The German based interVIB GmbH is delivering ready to start modules for metal separation. A basic module consists a Vibratory Trough Conveyor type TCV and selectively a magnetic drum type MD or a magnetic overbelt conveyor type MA, including the complete support structure. Each module is designed and built to the specific application and the required space on customer’s site. The Vibratory Trough Conveyor TCV receives the conveying good from the up-stream equipment, e.g. a shredder, homogenizes the product flow and is spreading the material. This ensures easy separating of the metal pieces from the product stream. The Trough Conveyor can be equipped with bolted in wear plates, if needed furthermore with a rubber lining between the plates and the trough reducing the noise emission. The customer can choose between a magnetic overbelt conveyor MA or a magnetic drum MD, all sub-supplied by notable European manufacturers. Further components can be selected, as there is a height adjustment by mechanical linear motion lifters, to mention only one. The complete module is designed and manufactured at our site in Münster, Germany, and before shipping it passes through a complete final inspection at our in house test field.

Scrap Metal Cleaning for Green Steel
The complete Scrap Metal Cleaning Plant SMCP MAX includes the infeed hopper 10-15 cbm with a Vibratory Feeding Table TCV delivering to the very special interVIB Scrap Metal Vibratory Screen VSL, including special 3D-screening cassettes and cascades revolving the conveying good ensuring that all dead spots and large surfaces are cleaned out from the fines. The Vibratory Screen delivers to an electromagnetic drum MD built by one of interVIB’s trustful sub-supplier. The fines are collected underneath the screen onto an incline belt conveyor GFB. An Overbelt Magnet MA takes out ferrous material from the fines and returns this to the melt material. The non-ferrous material falls down between the Screen and the Magnetic Drum onto a very robust collecting Vibratory Trough Conveyor TCV. The robust design including bolted in wear plates ensuring that material up to 100 kg can fall onto this equipment and is transferred to another incline belt conveyor GFB with chevron surface. At all locations wherever conveying good is falling or gets thrown, a special water atomization fogging equipment is installed. This is a two-substance system consisting of air and water built by Nebolex Umwelttechnik GmbH and is integrated into the control cabinet operating only when material is present. This is a very environmental friendly dust binding installation saving resources.
