Since 1985 Liebherr develops, produces and distributes efficient moisture measurement systems for the industrial automation around the world.
At the Liebherr factory in Bad Schussenried the sensors are produced and calibrated in an ESD-protected production line. Sensor development at Liebherr includes the total R&D value chain from the physical idea to the final solution, from the first concept to the finished product. The experience from the field of construction machines under extreme conditions guarantees a very high reliability and a long life time of the sensors.

Liebherr moisture measurement system type Litronic-FMS II
Our moisture measurement system FMS II is installed successfully in different industry fields for the determination of the moisture/water content of many different kind of materials (e.g.: powder and bulks, sand, granules, pellets... oil, diesel, coolant, sludge... ). The sensor could be installed on conveyor belts, in material chutes, silo outlets, dryers as well as in tanks and pipes and many other installation places. The moisture measurement system has been developed and made by our company especially to improve quality and to ensure a high-grade quality standard. With just one calibration of the sensor according to the local data and conditions we guarantee exact and replicable results.

Lieberr Water Content Measurement type Litronic-WMSII
The Liebherr Litronic-WMS II water content meter is used to measure the moisture or water content of a wide range of water content of a wide variety of media and materials in refineries, on oil platforms, in pipelines, in tanks, in many applications in the chemical and petrochemical industry, sludge dewatering, drying, waste incineration and sewage treatment plants. Also in the agricultural sector up to the pharmaceutical industry and many other industries. The wide range of applications extends from the most diverse emulsions to the finest powders and dusts and coarse-grained materials (max. grain size 32 mm) such as - Oil, crude oil, diesel, biodiesel, hardening oil (upstream / downstream) - Coolants - Paints, lacquers, solvents - Wax, resin - Other emulsions, suspensions - Water-product separation - Dust, slag - Fertiliser - Washing powder, agent - Sawdust - Biomass - Flour - etc. The stand-alone and precise measuring device for water content/moisture determination in the running process guarantees the highest quality and safety in Ex protected production environments, the further processing and refinement of very many emulsions and bulk materials. Liebherr Coating Control System type Litronic FMS 3K / CCS
The Liebherr P78-HR sensor in conjunction with the Liebherr Litronic-FMS 3K / CCS type coating thickness and basis weight determination system has become indispensable for many industrial processes. The areas of use include the coating of paper, box, film, non-woven and textile webs. The sensor installations take place, for example, before and after the squeegee for the exact determination of the coating or the humidity The Litronic-FMS 3K evaluation and transfer unit, which is a mandatory part of the system, is used to record, process and prepare the values measured by the sensors. The integrated software is used for convenient parametrisation and calibration. Thanks to the various interfaces, signal transmission to the higher-level control is feasible. Sensors to detect moisture in-situ in Powder&Bulks and emulsions
Litronic FMS P78 planar sensor Small, fine, excellent: The Liebherr P78 sensor in conjunction with the Liebherr FMS moisture measuring installation has become indispensable for many industrial processes. The moisture measuring installation was invented in 1985 at the Bad Schussenried factory. Measurement by the Liebherr sensor system is based on the physical principle of capacitance determination in the high-frequency stray field. In addition to their high precision and robustness, the measuring devices from Bad Schussenried are characterised by their reproducibility. Once the sensor has been calibrated, further measuring points can be set up or devices renewed on this basis at any time without great effort. The plant thus always remains reliable, regardless of its previous term and age. Increased temperature ranges: For use at increased material temperatures, we offer our P78-T sensor, which is designed for max. 90 °C material temperature. Explosion-protected areas: For the applicable equipment category II 3D Ex tD A22 IP6x T85°C Dc we use our P78-E sensor. Salt and acid: For highly aggressive substances, we use the high-grade material 1.4462 for the P78-H sensors. High wear: The Liebherr P78-V sensor is ideally suited for abrasive materials thanks to its 10 mm thick washer. Flange adaptations: For sensor installations in pipelines from DN150 and tank installations, we offer our DN80 flange. This is also available as a salt- and acid-resistant version. sliding shoe slides: A proven method of installing the sensor on the material using the carriage. Stainless steel, Hardox 400, Vaudit, acid and salt resistant or ceramic lined versions are available.

Pipe sensor to detect water in very low ppm ranges
Litronic-FMS 3K / RMH12 pipe sensor The Liebherr in situ water content determination Litronic-FMS 3K-RMH12 is used to detect the water content (concentration determination) even in very low ppm ranges in emulsions such as diesel fuel, transmission, hydraulic, engine, roller bearing, transformer and turbine oil as well as in battery systems. The sensors were developed in cooperation with the ISO/TS 16332 standardisation committee for the water separation ability of diesel fuel filters. The installation takes place on test and inspection stands and replaces the previous manual sampling as well as other offline measuring systems. Measurement by the Liebherr sensor system is based on the physical principle of capacitance determination in the high-frequency stray field. In addition to their high precision and robustness, the measuring devices from Bad Schussenried are characterised by their reproducibility. Once the system has been calibrated, further measuring points can be set up or devices renewed on this basis at any time without great effort. Small sensors for thight spaces
Litronic-FMS P30-S planar sensor Small, fine, excellent: The Liebherr P30-S sensor in conjunction with the Liebherr FMS moisture measuring installation has become indispensable for many industrial processes. Measurement by the Liebherr sensor system is based on the physical principle of capacitance determination in the high-frequency stray field. In addition to their high precision and robustness, the measuring devices from Bad Schussenried are characterised by their reproducibility. Once the sensor has been calibrated, further measuring points can be set up or devices renewed on this basis at any time without great effort. The plant thus always remains reliable, regardless of its previous term and age. Increased temperature ranges: For use at increased material temperatures, we offer our P78-ST sensor, which is designed for max. 90 °C material temperature. Weld-on fittings: For sensor installations in pipes for DN40 lines and pipe from 3 inches and up to a wall thickness of 25 mm, we offer you our appropriate brackets.

Sensors for on and off road applications
Litronic FMS P80-CAN planar sensor The CAN bus is used in on- and off-road applications, vehicles in the construction and agricultural sectors as well as in engines. The CAN bus is integrated in the sensor. The sensor meets critical EMC and environmental requirements. The signals are integrated and processed directly in the customer's control. The CAN bus signals communicate directly with the control apparatus. Measurement by the Liebherr sensor system is based on the physical principle of capacitance determination in the high-frequency stray field. In addition to their high precision and robustness, the sensor system from Bad Schussenried is characterised by its reproducibility. Each CAN sensor is individually calibrated and final tested.

P78-E sensors for hazardous areas under ATEX, UKEX and IECEx
Special precautions apply in areas where there is a risk of dust explosion. Liebherr offers certified sensors for determining the moisture in bulk materials for the potentially explosive atmospheres Zone 21 and 22. Bulk solids and materials such as coal, flour, wood, cocoa, coffee, sugar, starch and cellulose as well as magnesium and aluminium can be determined in-situ (real time) for the moisture value under particularly explosive conditions in conjunction with our proven FMS II evaluation and transfer unit. The sensors find their place in mixers, mills, dryers, conveyor belts, extraction points and the like. Send the measured values directly and in-situ to your higher-level control system. The self-sufficient measuring device for precise moisture determination in the running process guarantees the highest quality and safety in EX-protected production environments, the further processing and refinement of very many bulk materials.
