About us
VEGA Grieshaber KG is a globally active manufacturer of process instrumentation. Its product portfolio extends from sensors for measurement of level, point level and pressure to equipment and software for integration into process control systems.
Founded in the Black Forest in 1959, VEGA today employs approximately 2000 associates worldwide, 1000 of whom work at the headquarters in Schiltach. Here is where solutions for the most different and demanding measuring tasks are conceived and brought to realization. In addition to its headquarters in Schiltach, the company has 23 subsidiaries, one holding company as well as 78 agencies in more than 80 countries. The export ratio is over 80 percent.

Level sensor VEGAPULS 6X
VEGAPULS 6X is a universal sensor for continuous level measurement of liquids and bulk solids under all process conditions. Due to its application-oriented configuration and setup, VEGAPULS 6X offers a reliable and economical solution for all level applications. Due to its variable antenna systems, it ensures maintenance-free operation in all applications. The small process fittings offer particular advantages for liquids in small tanks or tight mounting spaces. The very good signal focusing ensures the use in vessels with many installations such as stirrers and heating spirals. For bulk solids under most different process conditions, the device is ideal for level measurement in very high silos, large bunkers and segmented vessels. The VEGAPULS 6X is equipped with an encapsulated plastic antenna or a lens antenna integrated into the metal flange for this. VEGAPULS 6X also offers decisive technical innovations: It is equipped with a comprehensive safety concept. Functional safety is guaranteed, as it conforms with all the requirements of Safety Integrity Level. The certified sensor has exceptional SIL characteristics and provides the necessary operational safety to minimise risks in safety-related applications. Another increasingly important focus is “cybersecurity”. In this regard the VEGAPULS 6X conforms to IEC 62443, which fulfils the strictest requirements for security of system access and communication control. It thus guarantees comprehensive process security, right through to the control system. Radiometric sensor for level detection POINTRAC 31
The short rod detector monitors the limit level of liquids and bulk solids without contact. The sensor is used on vessels of any geometry and on pipelines. The POINTRAC 31 is a radiation-based sensor for universal level detection of liquids and bulk solids. Independent of the mounting location, it monitors reliably the limit level in vessels. The sensor can be used for applications in all industries. Due to the high sensitivity POINTRAC 31 is an economical solution with minimum radiation activity. Vibrating level switch with suspension cable for powders The VEGAWAVE 62 is a level switch for universal use in powders and fine-grained bulk solids. The level switch detects reliably and robust the min. or max. limit level. The tuning fork is ideal for use either in adhesive and abrasive products as well as in bulk solids with very low density. The position of the switching point is determined through the length of the suspension cable. It can be up to 80 m away from the installation site. The tuning fork design is very robust and unaffected by buildup.
