Wireless belt-alignment switch ZS 92 SR with RF I/O

Combining the ZS 92 SR belt alignment switch with the RF I/O radio module has enabled steute to develop a new and robust wireless switching system. The Zs 92 SR is an exceptionally robust switching device with a multiple-coated die-cast aluminium enclosure monitors the alignment of conveyor belts. Its actuator lever detects any belt misalignment. In such cases, the switch triggers a stop of the conveyor system or a correction of the belt – depending on its integration within the control system. The signal is usually sent to the control system via a cable. But when large distances are involved, this requires a great deal of cabling, and rough environments with their adverse conditions are more prone to disturbances and downtimes than clean production areas. Taken by steute in collaboration with an interested gravel works operator, it was a logical step to develop the ZS 92 SR further: the belt alignment switch has now been adapted to communicate with the control system via radio. Another contributory factor making this a logical step was that both the necessary hardware and the wireless technology already existed: steute offers a wide range of industrial wireless switching devices, e.g. position switches, foot switches and sensors, which use the sWave wireless protocol developed by steute and which are to be found in countless successful applications. These two technologies have now been combined. The belt alignment switch is connected to a separate RF I/O module. Via sWave, this transmitter unit passes on any signals arriving from the switch to a wireless receiver – reliably, without cables, and over outdoor distances of up to approx. 400 metres. Users can install additional repeaters for even longer distances. Two belt alignment switches can be connected to each RF I/O module, and each switching device transmits a two-level wireless signal. At the first level this could be a warning signal, while the second level could trigger a shutdown of the conveyor system.

    2. Wirlwind Mill | High Product Quality Begins With the Grinding Process

Wirlwind Mill | High Product Quality Begins With the Grinding Process

High product quality begins with the grinding process. Fine powders and sensitive materials, in particular, require precise, reproducible size reduction while maintaining high throughput and low thermal stress. The Grenzebach whirlwind mill operates using an innovative, screenless principle, which prevents blockages and reduces maintenance efforts. The grinding intensity can be adjusted flexibly: from coarse fine material to ultrafine particles. Advantages of the Whirlwind Mill: • Flexible adjustment of grinding parameters for different materials • High efficiency with throughputs of up to 20,000 kg/h in a compact design • Low maintenance requirements thanks to the screenless construction • Easy integration into new or existing plants The whirlwind mill is used wherever precise grinding and consistent product quality are essential, such as in the chemical industry, the building materials sector, or in the production of specialty powders.

    3. Wood pellet pneumatic conveying

      Wood pellet pneumatic conveying

REEL Möller has installed two new 100t/h pneumatic conveying lines at the RWE Eemshaven power plant. These are the worlds longest pneumatic conveying lines for up to 100t/h wood pellets. Wood pellet handling Switching fuels has implications across the power plant flow sheet. Wood pellets require different handling and safety measures than coal. They are very coarse compared to mineral bulk materials, a different, more uniform shape, abrasive and, of course, highly combustible and, for the wood pellet fines fractions, explosive. Pneumatic conveying of wood pellets is challenging.

    4. Worm feeder

      Worm feeder

BARL screw conveyors are used for the continuous conveying, discharge and the volumetric metering of powdery, fine-grained and granular bulk materials with different physical properties. The screw conveyor is used for removing material under silos, bunkers, cyclones and filters, and for metered material discharge to grinders, scales, mixers and dryers. The standard version screw conveyors are used in pressureless conveyor systems. They are dust-tight to the outside. The screw conveyors can also be supplied in a special version for higher operating pressures or in pressure surge-resistant configurations. 6. Woven Wire Cloth

      Woven Wire Cloth

One of our core products is rectangular mesh - a mesh for general applications and screening tasks. Wire cloth has been produced by us on automatic looms for over 60 years. Today, we weave corrosion- and heat-resistant stainless steel mesh with mesh sizes ranging from a few μm to 20 mm for countless industries. Our weaving mills in Dorsten, Czech Republic and China can economically produce the metal meshes in high technical design. Fabric design and quality monitoring are planned and controlled according to our customers' tasks. Our many years of experience, coupled with the latest technology, make our metal meshes the first choice for screening applications. The essential characteristic of wire meshes is the mesh weave and the resulting mesh shape. The square or rectangular mesh is the most common of all mesh shapes. It is also classically used for screening and classifying. The variations of metal mesh and its possibilities to be redesigned are extremely diverse and are adapted to the customer's specific application.

    7. WTQ

      WTQ

The WTQ is a digital weighing transmitter with a 24-bit A/D converter. This converts the output signals of the connected load cells into a stable weight value. This versatile and extremely reliable weight transmitter for connecting 4 load cells directly (16 load cells in parallel). The transmitter has both analog and digital outputs, which provide stable measurement information. Communication takes place via an RS-485 interface. Programmable relay outputs and two digital logic inputs are also included as standard. The optional analog output provides an analog signal proportional to the weight, which can be processed by a PLC or a PC. The WTQ Ethernet2 has two equivalent RJ 45 ports that are connected as a mini switch. This means that several devices can be connected in a network in a space-saving manner without an external switch. A patch cable is sufficient between the devices. Fieldbus measuring transducer This weighing transmitter enables the monitoring of various production processes using the industry standards of bus technology and is a cost-effective alternative to comparable electronics from PLC manufacturers. The variety of available fieldbus interfaces enables easy and safe integration of weighing systems into any automation system. As an option, the industrial measuring amplifier with PLC interfaces and fieldbuses is available: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET IO, Ethernet IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, CANopen, POWERLINK, CC-Link, IO Link, Sercos III.

    8. X-Pump, screw feeder, pneumatic conveying, feeder

X-Pump, screw feeder, pneumatic conveying, feeder

The Claudius Peters X-Pump is a high-speed screw feeder which is installed as feeding unit in front of a pneumatic conveying pipeline. This pneumatic conveying system can be designed as conventional pneumatic pipeline system or as Claudius Peters FLUIDCON pipeline system. The task of the X-pump is to feed a defined solids mass flow into the conveying gas flow against the overpressure in the conveyor pipe, while at the same time sealing the system overpressure against the surrounding or the upstream sections of the plant to keep the gas leakage through the feeder as low as possible. This sealing is realized by forming a plug of bulk solids of defined length at the end of the screw. Conveying pressures up to approx. 2.5 bar overpressure, in special cases even higher, as well as conveying distances of up to approx. 1000 m and throughput capacities of up to approx. 400 t/h are achieved. It is possible to convey pulverized bulk solids as well as coarser materials with grain sizes up to approx. 10 mm. The X-Pump can be used as a feeder for dense-phase as well as for lean-phase conveyance.

    9. XDK851

      XDK851

The devices in the XDK851 series set new standards for sensor display devices. The compact design, designed for industrial requirements, is fully compatible with the DK850 and DK800 series. The touch display and USB interface make programming and operation child's play. The X8-Toolbox software will be available for transferring parameters from existing DK devices, which converts the existing parameters and can be used to import them into XDK devices. No wishes remain unfulfilled in terms of interfaces either. Another special feature is the option to customise the device. This means integrating a slide-in strip into the front, which cannot be changed by the end customer after installation, on which your data can be entered, as well as the option of storing a service page with your contact details in plain text and as a QR code in the menu.
