TA-Luft 2021: New requirements for warehouses in concrete plants, recycling, and waste management
With the amendment of TA-Luft 2021, the requirements for emission and immission reduction have been redefined. In addition to concrete and asphalt mixing plants, recycling companies, waste management companies, and operators of recycling halls and open building material storage facilities are particularly affected. Wherever bulk materials are stored or handled, the requirements for effective enclosure are increasing significantly.

Enclosure requirement for transshipment sites: focus on warehouses, roofing, and wind protection
TA-Luft requires “complete or largely complete enclosure” for transshipment sites of materials that can lead to dust emissions. This includes closed warehouses, large-area roofing, halls with gates or strip curtains, and enclosed drop-off and transshipment areas (see TA-Luft 2021). In addition, wind protection is required for outdoor loading and unloading operations.
