Density or total solids measurement in calcium carbonate

The production of calcium carbonate is of enormous importance for many industries, as it is an important component of many products. Calcium carbonate is mainly obtained by processing natural deposits, such as limestone, marble or chalk, or by synthetic processes such as precipitated calcium carbonate, also known as PCC. The process steps include extraction, crushing, grinding, purification, thickening and refining. Precise & reproducible microwave measurement Measuring the total solids or slurry density of calcium carbonate during production is crucial for maintaining product quality, optimising processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing product performance and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during manufacturing. It plays a vital role in the overall efficiency, reliability, and success of calcium carbonate production across various industries. With the Micro-Polar LB 566 measurement system from Berthold it is possible to measure the density or total solids with high repeatability and accuracy, thus guaranteeing stable and reliable process control throughout the entire process.

      DETECTABLE DESIGN: Seals with built-in-safety

The new JACOB DETECTABLE DESIGN line provides increased safety, for example in food production. All products in the DETECTABLE DESIGN line can be detected with customary metal detectors and comply with EC1935/2004 regulations, as well as FDA standards. Should they or even just parts of them accidentally find their way into your production process, for example during assembly, they can immediately be located by a metal detector and removed. Miniscule metallic particles render non-metal elements such as seals, rubber covers and compensators detectable. Look for the DETECTABLE DESIGN sign.

    3. Dewatering Screens

      Dewatering Screens

JOEST dewatering screens were originally developed for sand dewatering, but are now used in almost all industries where bulk materials need to be specifically dewatered after washing or other wet processes. Whether in ore processing, the minerals industry, plastics or glass recycling – thanks to their robust design and versatile configuration options, these screens have established themselves as high‑performance, compact solutions for achieving very low residual moisture. The machines operate with linear motion generated by vibratory motors, exciters, or magnetic drives – depending on machine size and application. With an optimized throw angle and high acceleration, JOEST dewatering screens achieve extremely low residual moisture values, even with high throughput rates. Optional features such as fines hoppers, vibration monitoring, or hygienic designs enable precise integration into a wide variety of processes and industries.

    4. DFI – Dual-Flap Isolation Valve

      DFI – Dual-Flap Isolation Valve

The DFI is a check valve for passive explosion decoupling. The operation of the DFI valve is passive (flow actuated), which means that no external energy is required to close the valve flaps when deflagration occurs. When process air flows through during regular operation, the air pulls or pushes the valve flaps open, allowing air to flow from the process to the protected area. When deflagration occurs in the protected area, the explosion pressure created causes the process air flow to reverse and close the valve flaps, preventing the deflagration flame front from spreading upstream beyond the valve.

    7. DIGITAL SC-LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

      DIGITAL SC-LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

Detecting leaks early and eliminating them promptly are important aspects of project supervision and the cost management of a plant. Even the smallest leaks can cause substantial consequential damage and generate high costs due to production downtimes and the cost of repairs. The Th. Scholten GmbH & Co. KG has developed a highly sensitive leak detection and early warning system in which the ceramic lining in all areas subject to wear are equipped with a signal cable. The outsides of the wear protection lining on the pipes or plant components to be monitored are wrapped with a signal cable. If this cable breaks upon the onset of wear, the sensor system sends a signal via cable or WLAN for the purpose of visualisation. AREAS OF APPLICATION OF THE LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM: - Vessel and plant components that are subject to increased wear and are difficult to access or to monitor - In hazardous areas in which the environment, people, and machines require special protection - Plant components like pipelines, chutes, cyclones, etc., can be monitored.
